The Veneer Process

To prepare veneers, our dentist will first thoroughly examine your mouth to create a unique impression model of your teeth. After it’s sent to the lab to be created, we’ll prepare your veneers and bond them to your tooth structure. The veneers should mimic the look and feel of your natural teeth, so you can expect to return to your normal eating and drinking habits. Following the first few days after your treatment, we recommend that you refrain from smoking and drinking beverages such as coffee, tea, and red wine to avoid complications during the recovery of your smile.

Types of Veneers

Each of our veneers treatments is custom designed to meet the unique needs of all our patients. We offer a variety of veneer options at our dental practice and will work closely with you to make a well-informed decision about which veneer fits your cosmetic goals and needs.

The three most common types of dental veneers include:

  • Porcelain Veneers: Porcelain veneers are made up of durable ceramic that can be matched to the color of your existing teeth. They are personalized and custom-made for each patient to achieve accurate fitting. The porcelain material has a quality that matches the light of the enamel of your tooth to promote a natural-looking effect. Additionally, they require minimal preparation time.
  • Lumineers: This is a specific brand of porcelain veneers that dramatically improves the appearance of your face. Like porcelain veneers, Lumineers require minimum tooth preparation and are considered an extremely simple restoration process. They are made up of an ultra-thin material that is generally placed without the need for injections or drilling.
  • Composite Resin: Composite resin veneers offer the same benefits, but at a more affordable cost. These lower-priced veneers allow you to achieve a dazzling smile that fits comfortably in your budget. However, due to the differences in material, they don’t last quite as long as traditional veneers.

Am I A Good Candidate for Dental Veneers?

We recommend veneers most for individuals seeking cosmetic changes to alter the appearance of their smile. To decide if veneers are a viable option, we’ll work with you to discuss your cosmetic goals and determine which veneer is the best fit for you.
