Avoid a Lengthy Wait with Same Day E4D

Dental crowns provide the perfect option to salvage a tooth that is severely decayed or is cracked or broken. Being able to obtain a crown in one day saves the patient time and eliminates the need for going weeks with a temporary that you would have to endure with a traditional crown.

A crown serves as a protective cover for a tooth. With Same Day E4D crowns, the patient receives a porcelain crown that is made to match surrounding teeth in size, shape, and shade.

The process employs CAD/CAM technology (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) to mill a crown from a block of porcelain. Your dentist will anesthetize the area surrounding the tooth to be treated; reduce the size of the tooth as minimally as possible (saving as much of the natural tooth as possible provides stability); and utilizing 3-D imaging of your tooth fabricates your new crown.

Your crown is ready in minutes, not weeks. Your dentist will try it in, and if needed, adjustments can be made chairside. When the fit is right, your crown is smoothed, polished, and cemented in place. You will leave the office with a fully functioning crowned tooth in just one dental visit.

You will no longer have to deal with trying to eat with a temporary for two to three weeks; or returning to the dentist if it comes off to have it replaced.

Many working patients find E4D crowns to be a lifesaver as you will not need to take the time for multiple dental visits – your crown can be diagnosed, made, and seated in one dental visit.

With 3-D imaging you no longer must endure having an impression made using gloppy goo and metal mouthpieces that can gag you.

Keep in mind that while porcelain is stain resistant, it does not respond to teeth whitening. So if you know a dental crown is in your future, and you are considering teeth whitening, undergo whitening first so your dentist can match your porcelain crown to your newly whitened dentition.

Caring for your E4D crown is the same care you provide all your teeth. Brush at least twice every day with a fluoridated toothpaste; floss to remove what your toothbrush missed; and visit your dentist every six months for cleaning and exam.
